Joke

A cabbie picks up a Nun. > > She gets into the cab, and notices that the VERY handsome > cab driver won't stop staring at her. > > She asks him why he is staring.> > He replies: > 'I have a question to ask you but I don't want to> offend you.'> > She answers, > 'My son, you cannot offend me. When you're as old> as I am > and have been a nun as long as I have, you get a chance to> see and > hear just about everything. I'm sure that there's> nothing you could > say or ask that I would find offensive.'> > 'Well, I've always had a fantasy to have a nun kiss> me.' > > She responds, > 'Well, let's see what we can do about that: #1, you> have> to be single and #2, you must be Catholic.'> > The cab driver is very excited and says, > 'Yes, I'm single and Catholic!'> > 'OK' the nun says. 'Pull into the next> alley.'> > The nun fulfills his fantasy, with a kiss that would > make a hooker blush.> > But when they get back on the road, the cab driver starts> crying.> > 'My dear child,' says the nun, 'why are you> crying?'> > 'Forgive me but I've sinned. I lied and I must> confess, > I'm married and I'm Jewish.'> > The nun says, 'That's OK. > My name is Kevin and I'm going to a Halloween> party.' > >

Yard

Yard is put away for winter pretty much. I tilled up the garden one last time for next season. I put away my potted perennials along the fences and covered them with leaves. I pulled the petunias and other annuals out front and added them to the compost pile. Next chore will be to neaten up the greenhouse to get it ready for spr

Fire

Buxton had another fire this morning. This one discovered by a neighbor while the family away at football practice. Investigation by the State Fire Marshall has not determined a cause other than it wasn't suspicious. Damage was bad in the kitchen and the bedroom above. I took a hose to the 2nd floor but the main fire was behind a kneewall where you see it has burned thru the roof. It was too hot to advance the hose until some venting was done to allow smoke and heat to escape.

Fryeburg Fair Pics

Replica of a Forest Fire Tower. This would normally be on top of a high hill or mountain. Here it is used for education with old equipment and a Ranger talking of life in the fire towers in the past. All the towers in Maine are now manned by volunteers. I would love to have this for myself. It is new this past year. I took the rest of the pics of the fairground from here. Fryeburg Fair is the largest and last fair in the state.

Hurricane Ike

This is my first blogger post so I will keep it easy and see how it goes.
During Hurricane Ike I caught some surfers at Higgins Beach in Scarborough. They had 10 foot waves to practice the sport. A couple came down from Quebec, Canada to catch a wave.
